Whale and Dolphin Watching
Donsol, on the southern tip of the main island of Luzon, is the Whale Shark Capital of the World. From February to May, you can literally swim alongside these gentle, polka-dotted giants that grow up to forty feet in length, it’s an experience of a lifetime! Dolphins can also be spotted all over the Philippines. One of the best spots is Pamilacan Island, off Bohol in the Visayas. There guided tours will let you behold dolphins, bryde’s whales, and even the occasional manta ray.

Canopy Walk
Imagine walking amongst the dense foliage of the towering hardwood trees of a pristine rainforest and looking twenty feet down to the forest floor. This is the magic of canopy walking. It’s a great way to explore the heart of the primary rainforest. There is no better place to experience it than the Philippines! The canopy walkway in Claveria, Misamis Oriental lets you hop from tree to tree on hanging bridges, so you can soak in the atmosphere of the ancient jungles of Mindanao.

Bird Watching
The Philippines is truly a birdwatcher’s dream. The country is home to over 760 species of birds, including some of the rarest species in the world. The Candaba Swamp in Pampanga is a well-known bird sanctuary. As a stop over for birds migrating from the north Asia, rare birds like the Eurasian spoonbill and schrenck’s bittern have been spotted there. The Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary, near Cebu, is also a paradise for birdwatchers. Over 50 different species of migratory birds have been spotted here, including the rare Chinese egret.
