Comprised of 7107 islands and islets, 11,440 miles of shoreline, mountain altitudes from 5,873 to 10,315 feet, and 21 active volcanoes out of a total of 221, the Philippines is a country that sits in the Pacific Ring of Fire that has a unique combination of varied topography and known as one of the biologically richest countries in the world. Being a center of biodiversity, the Philippines is also a center of action—where a multitude of activities can happen all at the same time, making the country one of the best and exciting locations for travellers seeking the adventures of their lifetimes.
Blessed with an abundance of natural beauty and resources and a people who knows how to enjoy life, it would seem that the Philippines and its people were naturally created for adventure.
The Philippines is a perfect place for the outdoor enthusiast. Here are the reasons why!
1. VARIETY OF ADVENTURES. There is an adventure escape for every type of traveller in the Philippines: from aquatic sports to land-based activities to ecotourism; and from extreme adventures to relaxing physical activities to nature-preserving pursuits. The Philippines can satisfy any kind of craving for adventure.
2. YEAR-ROUND ADVENTURE. The Philippines' geographic location in tropical Southeast Asia predisposes it to a year-round schedule of adventure activities. The country's topography, archipelagic structure and biodiversity provide adventure destinations accessible year-round. Even the typhoon season brings unparalleled adventures in surfing, windsurfing and kite surfing in the eastern part of the country.
3. VALUE FOR MONEY. Adventure travelling in the Philippines is one of the most affordable in the world. Done without sacrificing quality and safety standards, the Philippines offers adventure packages to some of the best sites in the world, at a fraction of the cost to enjoy it elsewhere.
4. ATTRACTIONS AND DESTINATIONS. Aside from the different adventure activities, travellers can also enjoy the other attractions and destinations in the Philippines like amazing natural wonders, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, spas, dive sites, and some of the world's largest shopping malls.
5. FILIPINO HOSPITALITY. With the Filipinos' well-known culturally-imbedded trait of openness, welcome and goodwill plus their warmth and fun-loving nature, adventure travellers in the Philippines will feel like they are travelling safely with friends.
6. EASE OF COMMUNICATION. As the world's third largest English-speaking nation, travellers to the Philippines have an easy time communicating with any local, anywhere in the country. The Filipinos' proficiency and good command of the English language facilitates worry and problem-free coordination and implementation of an adventure trip.
